At 53 years of age, I am now enjoying a part of my life that amounts to no financial gains but as a music and people fanatic it is only getting better. I belong to a big group of volunteer radio music programmers (m/p), DJs, producers, engineers, etc that make up to be a ONE BIG ASS COLLECTIVE, with the most diverse people of diverse backgrounds, and my favorite CULTURES!

Sure, at our station there are staff that get paid, I feel I can safely say that it can't possibly pay all that much when you talk to some of them (paid staff), most will express how it is for the love of belonging to somehthing so cool,  alternative radio! I think of all the alternative independent radio stations in the world and can't help to think of us all  being in a special little family. Particularly those of us who actively produce FreeForm Music radio programs. We use the music of singer-songwriters/bands as our music notes. Our formats if produced well come out as one bad ass improvised set! We have the privilege of selecting any song or music of our choice. In alternative radio we are the envy of commercial radio music programmers and DJs. Check me and my posse out at kunm.org
